Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network. With her trademark spiky blond hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides concise easy-to-master techniques for the at-home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the most prestigious restaurants within New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy as well as competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic learning experience. I just couldn't get enough out of the experience. After graduation, chef Burrell went on to spend one time in Italy attending Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In Italy Burrell developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This is a huge influence on how Burrell cooks.
