Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff is an actress from France, French actress was born on May 3, 1986. She was a student at the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris. Her roles include Loup (2009) as well as Sleepless Night (2011). She portrays the role Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City to a Korean father and a French-Russian wife. He worked as consul for the French government. Eugene Klementieff, a painter was her great-grandfather. The name was chosen by her parents "Pom" due to the fact that it's identical in pronunciation to Korean words for both "spring" and "tiger". Klementieff lived in Canada for a short time before her family went on a long trip because of her father's job. They lived in Japan as well as the Ivory Coast, before settling in France. Klementieff's father, who died aged 5 of cancer was also her mother. She was also suffering with schizophrenia and didn't have the time for her kids. Klementieff was raised with her aunt and paternal uncle. Her uncle, whom she said in her own words as "like [her] first father," died on Klementieff’s 18th birthday. The older brother of her was killed seven years later. The second occasion, it occurred on her birthday, which was on the 25th. Klementieff briefly attended law school following the death of her uncle in order to please her aunt, however she didn't find the profession option attractive. She was also salesperson and waitress in France. At the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris she started acting at the age of 19. After her studies were completed she was awarded an acting competition that provided her with two years of tuition free with some of the best instructors at the school. Klementieff's first professional acting job was the French independent film Apres lui (2007), as the stepdaughter of the protagonist which was played by Catherine Deneuve. The filming process took three days. During one scene, Klementieff was to help push someone down a set of stairs but fell down the steps herself, and director Gael Morel used that scene for the final film. Loup (2009) was her debut film with a leading role. It is an French movie about a group of Siberian mountain reindeer herders. Klementieff was filming in the camp that was located hours away from the nearest village. It was there that temperatures plunged to zero.
